The Mineral Gem & Jewelry Show April 18-20 2008

The Annual Show features Dealers in all things Geological! Gemstones, Lapidary arts, fossils, mineral specimens, finished jewelry as well as tools, findings and beads, books and maps can be found, as well as member collections & specimens, a fluorescent display, door prizes, demonstrations and the Running Water Sluice.

The 2008 Mineral Gem & Jewelry Show is finalized and we're ready to go! 2008 Dealers will include

Hurlburt Minerals features minerals, fossils, jewelry and carvings.

Lavins Gems & Jewelry has gemstones - loose & mounted, jewelry, carvings and kids corner.

PV's Rocks includes minerals, carvings, fossils, geode-cracking and new Peruvian minerals.

Wiesner's Minerals features crytals and mineral specimens.

Geodon highlighting faceted stones, fine jewelry and carvings.

CJs Jewelry features minerals, gemstones, jewelry, slabs, and beads.

Demonstrators will include

Watch how cutting rough, preforming and polishing creates beautiful cabochons

Art carved Ostrich Eggs and Feathers

Beading, Findings, Tools & Books

Wire Wrapping can turn any cab into a beautiful piece of jewelry

Sand Art - turning beautiful bottles into an exceptional artwork

Making Jewelry & Repairing damaged pieces

Making cabs, Jewelry and Agate Windchimes

Custom Marbles - you pick the colors

Faceted Stones & mountings - choose a stone, choose a mounting, customize your jewelry your way!

PLUS the Running Water Sluice - hands on fun learning how the miners looked for gold and gemstones. Sluice the sand out and search for agates, quartz, pyrite, calcite, gemstones, fluorite, selenite, iron ore and desert roses, shells, and surprises!

The Show is held at the Lutheran School Association (LSA)

Lutheran High School gym at 2001E. Mound Road in Decatur.

FRIDAY APRIL 18, 2008

9am - 3pm is Kids Day. Many local area schools, groups and homeschoolers attend the show for special activities.

3-6pm is open to the general public.

SATURDAY APRIL 19 Open 9am - 6pm

SUNDAY APRIL 20 Open 10am - 4pm
